The La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly on Monday day, January 10, 2022 held a staff durbar to offer staff the opportunity to interact with management and strategize how to improve upon the current situations at hand.
The durbar brought together all Heads of Department (HoD’s), and staff which created the opportunity for them to discuss the problems that were affecting their service delivery. It was an avenue for the staff and other junior officers of the Assembly to seek redress on issues of concern to them. Hence, heads of various department were given the platform to air their challenges.
Addressing the staff, the Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Jennifer Dede Adjabeng commended the staff for their sacrifices in diverse ways for the past year which had ensured effective and efficient work production. She said in spite of the challenges over the years, staff had worked hard in various diverse ways, and urged them to do all within their means to improve upon the successes chalked so far by the assembly.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Abena Kwesiwaa Kyei assured the staff that their grievances would be considered in due time. She encouraged them to put up their best and work diligently in spite of the seemingly challenges.
Among the various challenges mentioned by the heads of department included; regular training of staff, provision of vehicle for field work, poor state of the wash rooms and non-payment of allowances due over time workers, the rest were office space, uniforms for newly recruited guards and Information Van.
