Foster care is an alternate care, an option for children in need of care, providing family life for those that can not live with their parent. The Department of Social Welfare therefore provide such services in our communities as one of its programme with UNICEF as the primary sponsor.
The sensitization was done in the Otinibi Community on Foster care on May 3, 2022, other members included Madina Tailors and Seamstresses Association and some members of Adenta West community.
The Objective of the program was to provide children with a stable nurturing and exciting environment with an approved foster family.
Foster care provide an alternative family life for the children who cannot live with their biological parents. The turn-up was encouraging, and the program was successful.
