MCE Interacts With Staff On National Chocolate Day

The Municipal Chief Executive for La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly, Mrs Jennifer Dede Adjabeng on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 has admonished staff of the assembly to always demonstrate gestures of love and concern towards colleagues at all times.

On a day where people symbolically show their affection for another person or people by sending gifts, cards with messages of love, the MCE shared chocolates made from Ghana’s finest cocoa bean which is renowned globally for its health benefits to the staffs and workers at the Assembly.

She said the commemoration of the “National Chocolate Day” does not only symbolize love for our partners alone but that acts of love could also be shown towards work mates, friends and family members.

Speaking during an interaction with staff, she urged them to be one another’s keeper in keeping with the spirit of teamwork to push the frontiers of development for the municipality.

According to her, the demonstration of acts and gestures of love towards fellow human beings was actually divine in nature as God admonishes in first Corinthians chapter 13: 4-5 to love one another unconditionally.

She said the “National Chocolate Day” should be a day that would redefine the relationship among staff particularly heads of department and their subordinates so that there was no tension but rather peaceful co-existence to promote productivity.

In 2005, the Ghana Tourism Authority instituted “National Chocolate Day” to coincide with Valentine’s Day, which is celebrated on 14th February annually.
