To avert possible flooding in the municipality, the Environmental Health Unit of the La Nkwantanang Municipal Assembly undertook a massive desilting exercise of drains and gutters along the Daavi JJ Road to Doku junction, about 950 meters stretch.
To ensure that these drains and gutters are well-maintained, officials of the Assembly’s Department of Urban Roads on Monday, 20th March, 2023, also embarked on a rehabilitation exercise to mend all the broken concrete slabs of the drains and gutters.
Furthermore, all open gutters and drains were covered with concrete slabs to prevent waste materials from entering which would allow for easy flow of run-off water.
