MCE Visits Waste Transfer Station At Pantang

The Municipal Chief Executive of the La Nkwantanang-Municipal Assembly, Jennifer Dede Adjabeng, on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 paid a working visit to the Waste Transfer Station at Pantang in Accra. The visit was to familiarize herself with the working conditions and operational standards of the newly built facility. The MCE was accompanied by the Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Joseph Quacoe and the Municipal Information Officer, Mr Isaac Odoom Egyin.

Interacting with the Manager of the facility, Mr. Philip Yeboah Asante, the MCE enquired of the availability of a deodorizer following the foul smell which had engulfed the place. She also sought to find out if the waste station can accommodate the volume of waste in the event of a massive clean-up in the municipality. In response, Mr. Asante said the facility has enough deodorizer, but must be certified by the engineer before it is applied. He said the station has the capacity to contain the perceived amount of refuse if a clean-up was done in municipality.
