The La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA) have supported Mosques and Islamic homes within the Municipality with assorted items towards the celebration of Ramadan on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
The items included bags of rice, cartons of milk, bags of sugar, Lipton tea, oil, tomato paste, and other assorted commodities commonly used during Ramadan.
All mosques within the Municipality, along with specific Islamic homes, received support packages from LaNMMA.
Later in an interview, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng said, the distribution was carried out with the aim of aiding these communities in observing their fasts and providing them with essential resources to enhance their Ramadan experience.
The MCE also explained that, the donation forms part of LaNMMA’s efforts to strengthen the cordial relations and tighten the bonds of peaceful co-existence among all religious and ethnic groupings.
“This initiative not only strengthens community ties but also underscores the importance of solidarity and assistance during times of spiritual significance.” The MCE stressed.
Recipients expressed their thanks to the district head and the entire LaNMMA for their thoughtful gesture and support during Ramadan.
The distribution was well-received and acknowledged as a meaningful contribution to the local Islamic community.
