The Birth and Death Registry is a department of the Assembly that is responsible for the registration and compilation of information and details about the birth and death of people within the Assembly.

The goal of the department is to supervise and control Births and Deaths registry in the municipality.

Objectives

The department has the following as its main objectives:

• Create awareness on the importance of births and deaths registration
• Increase registration of births and deaths
• Maintenance of database of births and deaths in the municipality

The department has a mandate and role to play; its core mandate is:

• To register all births and deaths occurring in the municipality and issue certificate to applicants
