The MTN Care Foundation has celebrated the International Woman’s Day with the women Farmers’ Group at Pantang on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. The day was also used to officially break ground for the initiation of a model farm for the women group where modern technologies for farming would be adopted.
The programme was attended by officials and leadership from MTN, staff from Holland Greentec, the Assemblyman for Pantang and staff of the Agric Department of the La Nkwatanang Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA).
The project will be sponsored by MTN Care Foundation and the technical work will be handled by Holland Greentec and the Agric Department of LaNMMA.
The Agric Director, Mrs. Lydia Fiatuho explained that the women group will be empowered with modern technologies such as the use of drip irrigation, mulching, pruning, among others to help them train other women.
The women group expressed their satisfaction with the intervention, stating that the programme would to a large extent boost their earnings and make their farming operations easily approachable.
