Education Department

The La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Education Directorate was carved out of the Ga East Municipality in 2012. The Municipality is boarded by Adenta Municipality from the East, Ga East Municipality from the West and North and Accra Metro from the South. The Education Directorate is located near the Custom Bonded House at Redco. It is housed on the First floor of the Madina Teachers Credit Union building. The Directorate has Eight Circuits – Madina Circuit, Nkwantanang Circuit, Fire Armour Circuit, Presec Circuit, New Road Circuit, Estate Circuit, Pantang Circuit and Oyarifa Circuit.

The goal of the department is to enhance inclusive and equitable access to, and participation in quality education at all levels.

Objectives

The objectives become the main focus of the department. The following thematic areas shall be looked at as envisioned by the Ghana Education Service:

  • Increase equitable access to and participation in education at all levels in the Municipality
  • Improve quality of teaching and learning
  • Bridge gender gap in access to education
  • Improve access to quality education for persons with disability
  • Improve Management efficiency in education delivery

The Education Department is responsible for the implementation of Pre-tertiary education policies of the Government to ensure that all school-aged children irrespective of tribe, gender, disability, religious and political affiliation are provided with quality formal education and training through effective management of resources to make education delivery efficient and relevant to the manpower needs of the nation.
