MCE Tours Development Project Sites

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fussein has on Thursday, April 9, 2026 toured the various on-going project sites within the Municipality to assess progress of projects which are under various levels of completion.

He was accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Abena Kwesiwa Kyei, Assembly members of the respective electoral areas and selected heads of department.

Among the project sites visited were a Clinic, Nurses Quarters, an 18 units classroom block and a Mosque at Baba Yara Basic School, a 3-storey building for the Oyarifa zonal council, a 3-storey 18 units classroom block for Pantang Basic school, construction of various roads totalling 8.3km within the Pantang enclave and Madina Estate road.

During the visit, all the building projects were at different levels of  completion with nurses quarters and clinic at Baba Yara at lintel level, the ground floor of a 3-storey completed at Pantang Hospital completed, and a couple of them a little above foundation level.

Addressing the media, the MCE said government was committed to uplifting the development fortunes of all persons within the jurisdiction through such projects.

He explained that, but for the bureaucratic system of assembly operations, the assembly would have used 6 months to change the municipality in development terms as was being witnessed across board.

According to him, each of the 15 electoral areas in the municipality would be touched in terms of development in various infrastructural projects.

He disclosed that some of the projects were being funded by the Internally Generated Fund while others were under the District Assembly Common Fund.

He expressed satisfaction with the on-going road project on the Pantang stretch which was about sixty percent complete.

Hon. Faila pleaded with residents of the area and adjoining districts to cooperate with on-going development activities to ensure that the people benefitted from the good governance of the current administration.

He appealed to motorists plying the Pantang Abokobi road to exercise restraint as the road project progresses steadily.

The project manager, Mr Samuel Opoku Acheampong said though the project was scheduled for completion in two years, much improvement would be seen in six months citing the major difficulty as the culvert cutting through the road which was under construction to be completed in a month’s time.
