The Social Welfare Department of the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly has disbursed assorted items to 49 Persons With Disability (PWDs) in the municipality.

The items include chest freezers, laptops, welding electrical equipment, industrial sewing machine, hairdressing equipment, poly tank, tables and stands, gas oven and provisions.

Speaking in an interaction with the media, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fusseini urged the beneficiaries of the items to put them to good use to ensure that other PWDs benefit.

He thanked the President for bringing relief to the beneficiaries, adding that government would continue to advance the interest and welfare of PWDs in harmony with inclusive development.

The Municipal head of Social Welfare and Community Development, Mr. Archibald Mensah disclosed that a monitoring team would visit all beneficiaries to assess the sustenance of their business.

He explained that before the items were purchased, a needs assessment was done to determine what each PWD wants.
