The Presiding Member (PM) for La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly, Hon. Braimah Ismaila Blay has been re-elected for the position on Wednesday, 18th May, 2022.
He won by a wide margin of 15 votes against 6 votes of his opponent, Hon. David Emmanuel Asante- Kwatia in an election conducted in a transparent, free and fair environment.
In his victory speech, he pledged to work in harmony with all assembly members and relevant stakeholders to advance the vision of the assembly to put the municipality on the map.
He admonished all members to let go all offences in the event that he had step on any toes to enable them work in unison in the new era.
The PM called for all hands on deck and prevailed on members to lend him the necessary support to enable him deliver his best in his second tenure, adding that the mission and vision of the assembly can be realized when all put their shoulders to the wheel.
A total of 21 Assembly members cast their votes, out of which 15 voted in favour of Hon Blay which represents 68% of valid votes, while his opponent received 6 votes representing 32%. Hon Blay was declared winner by the Municipal Electoral Commissioner, Lillian Oye Asare and was sworn in by her Worship from the Madina Magistrate Court, Susana Nyarkotey.
The event was witnessed by the Municipal Chief Executive, Jennifer Dede Adjabeng; Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Abena Kwesiwaa Kyei; Municipal Police Commissioner, Cosmos Anyan; Electoral commission officials and security personnel.
