The Municipal Chief Executive of La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA), Mrs. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng has asked staff of the Assembly to continue to work diligently to help her achieve greater heights for the municipality.
Speaking at a staff durbar held at the forecourt of the Assembly on Tuesday, September 11, 2023, Mrs Adjabeng admonished staff of the various units/departments to give their best, despite the numerous challenges they were faced with, assuring them of better days ahead.
The gathering which brought together all workers for the purposes of familiarization also gave management the opportunity to introduce newly posted staff to the Assembly in the course of the year.
During the interactions between management and staff of the Assembly light was brought to some of the challenges workers were facing and measures being taken by management to improve the working conditions.
One of such measures were uniforms presented to staff of the Works Department and Municipal Guards, in the Assembly’s bid to give the two bodies a uniformed identity which would go a long way to enhance their service delivery.
Mrs. Adjabeng cautioned personnel against the abuse of authority and said, the Assembly would not tolerate any unauthorized behaviour by any personnel on duty. And reminded them that the guiding principle of their work was discipline.
“Giving you uniforms does not give you the license to go out there and do what you want. Any unauthorized motto check will not be tolerated any more. When you are caught doing it, do not go and bring anyone to beg for you.” The MCE cautioned.
“The key word about your work is discipline. Don’t be in a hurry to seize people’s tools. Seize the opportunity to explain the Assembly’s by-laws to developers and other clients”. She added.
Mrs. Adjabeng particularly commended the Works Department for working hard to raise money for the purchase of two vehicles and urged them to continue to put in their best just as the Assembly is thriving to support them.
The MCE also advised the staff to keep records of all that they do to serve as a reference when the needs arise in the near future.
