The La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA) on Tuesday, 17th October, 2023 held its last Ordinary General Meeting at the Assembly’s Conference Hall to discuss the activities and plans for the Municipality.
The meeting was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Jennifer Dede Adjabeng; the Presiding Member, Ismaila Braimah Blay; the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Abena Kwesiwaa Kyei; the Assembly Members and heads of department.
The MCE addressed the house on issues that had emerged in the Municipality since its last Assembly meeting and also presented the Executive Committee’s report.
Madam Adjabeng said the Assembly has achieved significant progress in different aspects of the local economy and pledge to do more in the coming years to improve the lives of people within the Municipality.
The Presiding Member took the opportunity to express his gratitude to Assembly members for their support overs the years. He also expressed the hope that they would continue with the same zeal and commitment should they win their respective upcoming district assembly elections.
The Municipal Planning Officer, Mr. Frederick Asiama presentation on the annual action plan and highlighted on projects and programs as well as key activities carried out in pursuance of the Assembly’s vision to create an enabling environment. And also, to provide essential services for a good quality of life for the people within the municipality.
At the latter part of the meeting, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency, Hon. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu graced the meeting for the first time. He apologized to the MCE and Assembly members for his inability to honour invitations to General Assembly due to his parliamentary duties. He applauded the MCE for good work done and thank Hon. Assembly members for their support.
At the meeting he presented a set of football kits to all the assembly members for their communities’ youth engagement.
