LANMMA MCE Presents Food Items to the Aged

More than 50 elderly residents of the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipality benefited from a food donation exercise organized by the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LANNMA) on Monday, June 15, 2026.

The brief but impactful event, held at the Assembly Hall, saw beneficiaries receive assorted food and household items including rice, oats, sugar, cooking oil, mackerel, tomato paste, milk, soap, and sardines.

The beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to the Municipal Assembly for the kind gesture. They offered prayers for the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fusseini, and the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, for remembering and supporting the aged in the municipality.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Nicholas Quaye praised the MCE for the initiative and assured him of the continuous support and goodwill of the elderly residents.

In an interaction with the media, Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fusseini emphasized the commitment of President John Dramani Mahama to the welfare of all citizens, particularly the aged.

“President John Dramani Mahama has everyone at heart, especially our senior citizens, and continues to make every effort to ensure that no one is left behind. This initiative is a clear demonstration of that commitment,” he stated.

The MCE further assured the beneficiaries that the donation exercise was only the beginning, adding that the Assembly would continue to roll out similar interventions to support vulnerable groups within the municipality.

Also addressing the gathering, Mr. Umar Ibrahim, Assembly Member for the Nkwantanang East Electoral Area, commended both the President and the MCE for making the programme possible. He noted that the support would go a long way in improving the welfare and livelihoods of the aged beneficiaries.

The event forms part of the Assembly’s broader efforts to promote social welfare and improve the quality of life of vulnerable members of the municipality, particularly the elderly, who continue to play a significant role in community development.
