Public Sector Workers Urged to Embrace Five Ps for Improved Service Delivery

The Chief Director of the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council, Rev. Nii Harry Kwartei Owuo, has called on public sector workers to demonstrate greater commitment to their duties by embracing what he described as the “Five Ps”—Purpose, Punctuality, Productivity, Professionalism and Performance.

Rev. Owuo made the call during a familiarisation visit to the staff of the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA) on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

Addressing the staff, he stressed the importance of being purposeful in the discharge of their responsibilities, urging workers to constantly reflect on the reason they serve in the public sector.

“As public sector workers, we must be purposeful in whatever we do by asking ourselves why we are here and what impact we are making,” he said.

The Chief Director noted that punctuality is a critical component of an effective work ethic, emphasizing that reporting to work on time and closing at the appropriate time are essential for achieving higher productivity.

Touching on productivity, Rev. Owuo encouraged staff to avoid idleness and instead dedicate themselves to working diligently to improve efficiency and service delivery.

On professionalism, he urged employees to uphold high ethical standards in the execution of their duties by treating clients fairly, respectfully and with integrity.

According to him, performance, the final element of the Five Ps, would naturally improve when workers consistently demonstrate purpose, punctuality, productivity and professionalism in their daily responsibilities.

In his remarks, the Municipal Chief Executive for La Nkwantanang-Madina, Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fusseini, said he had fostered a cordial working relationship with staff since assuming office.

He expressed confidence that the Assembly would emerge as the best-performing municipality in the next national ranking of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies.

The meeting was attended by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Abena Kwesiwa Kyei, heads of departments and members.
