The Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development has organised a one day workshop for four Assemblies, under the Ghana Urban Mobility and Accessibility Project (GUMAP).
The workshop which was hosted by the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly on Friday, 19th August, 2022, was intended to discuss a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) for traffic and parking as well as promote public transport data collection for evidence based decision making.
This in the long run will translate into addressing challenges in the public transport industry in the various Assemblies and the Greater Accra Region as a whole.
The KPIs were also to encourage participating Assemblies to take more seriously, issues associated with the sector and work towards finding solutions.
The beneficiary Assemblies including, La Nkwantanang-Madina, Adenta, GA East and Ayawaso West were expected to examine the KPIs for possible adoption and replication.
