The Municipal Coordinating Director of the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly, Madam Abena Kwesiwaa Kyei has led a team of officials from the Assembly to inspect an on-going repair work on a bridge at Teiman electoral area on Thursday, October 6, 2022.

The bridge which connects Teiman and Oyarifa, also serves as a link to motorists around Abokobi and Burger Town areas. The bridge near Akorli restaurant has become weak due to exposure to excessive flooding and erosion, taking some portion of the road, and thereby posing danger to motorist and pedestrians as well.

The repair of the bridge forms part of a larger project to rehabilitate the Oyarifa to Teiman road which has been in deplorable state over the years and barely motorable.

Madam Abena Kyei encouraged the contractor to deliver the project on time and cautioned against delays and consequences, given how important the bridge is to Teiman and the adjoining communities.

Mr. Emmanuel Odumang, an elder of Teiman expressed his appreciation to the Assembly and government for expediting action on the deplorable bridge when the team called on him.

The bridge repair is being undertaken by Lomemf Construction Company and is expected to be completed in two months’ time. In view of this, motorist around Teiman, Abokobi and Burger Town are advised to use the palace road through to Oyarifa Special Ice to connect to the main Aburi-Madina Highway.
