The La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA) on Thursday, December 22, 2022 embarked on a massive Municipal-wide clean-up exercise to usher in the beginning of the Christmas festive season.
The Clean-up exercise which also formed part of effort by the Assembly to keep the spirit of the Operation Clean your Frontage campaign alive lasted for four hours with shops and market stalls closed to ensure a successful exercise.
Residents, property owners, tenants and traders were among hundreds of participants who took part in the exercise that covered areas such as Madina Central Market, Zongo Junction, Social Welfare, Ritz Junction, Massalachi, Nkulenu Road and other electoral areas.
Staff of the Assembly led by the Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs Jennifer Dede Adjabeng also joined the exercise and cleared weeds and desilt chocked gutters from Atomic Junction to Ritz Junction section of the Legon – Aburi Highway, Baba Seidu Road and the Nkulenu Road.
Speaking to the media, the MCE said the Assembly was determined to usher in the Christmas season with a clean and well organised environment throughout the municipality as the season is usually characterise by a lot of human activities.
