The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA), Mrs Jennifer Dede Adjabeng on Thursday, February 8, 2024, engaged with sanitation officers of the Assembly on issues concerning sanitary conditions within the Municipality.
The meeting was also held to offer an opportunity for the outgoing Municipal Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Joseph Quarcoe, who is due for retirement on Friday, February 16, 2024 to bid his staff a final farewell.
During the engagement, discussions centred on the best possible ways to make the Municipality one of the cleanest places in the Greater Accra Region.
In his brief remarks, Mr Joseph Quarcoe, reminded the staff of the importance of their role in ensuring that the Municipality was always clean devoid of any filth.
For their part, sanitation officers appealed for logistics to go discharge their duties effectively. Some of the items requested includes protective tools, like gloves, boots, and working clothing, which according to them were necessary for effective work.
They also appealed for salary increment and the provision of health care since their work is a high-risk one.
Responding to the issues raised by the sanitation officers, Mrs Adjabeng assured the officers that the Assembly would take into consideration all concerns raised and address them accordingly.
