The Vice President, His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia has paid a familiarization visit to Echoing Hills Village, an orphanage at Ogbojo in the La Nkwantanang-.Madina Municipality in Accra.
The visit which was on Friday, March 29, 2024, was part of an initiative to provide sustenance to care homes in the period leading up to the Easter festivity. As part of the visit, the Vice-President presented assorted food items, drinks, and cash to the inmates whilst giving ears to the concerns and requests of administrators of the orphanage.
He expressed the goodwill of government towards the orphanage and admonished public-spirited benevolent organizations and individuals to rally to the support of the home.
Responding to their call for support, the Vice President arranged for the donation of a deep freezer through the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nkwantanang, Mrs. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng and Mr. Robert Lamptey, an aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Madina constituency.
The refrigerator is expected to aid in the storage of perishable items at the facility, ensuring that the children at the orphanage have access to fresh food and beverages. This donation reflects the Vice President’s commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and supporting care homes like Echoing Hills Village.
Following the pledge made by the Vice-President, Hon. Adjabeng on the 9th April 2024 donated a deep freezer to the orphanage.
