MCE For La Nkwantanang-Madina Fetes National Best Teacher, 2024

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA), Mrs. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng, together with staff of the Assembly have held a reception to fete the 2024 National Best Teacher, Madam Fuseini Fuseina on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at the premises of the assembly.

Present at the brief ceremony were the Municipal Education Director, Mr. Kean Appiah-Adjei, PTA chairman, Mr. Isaac Addo, the Headmistress for Madina SDA Basic School, Madam Beatrice Opoku and Heads of Department of the assembly.

Mrs. Fuseini Fuseina, a 47 year old kindergarten teacher at the Madina SDA Basic School in the Greater Accra Region was adjudged the overall Best Teacher at the 2024 Ghana Teacher Prize.

Fuseini Fuseina was recognized at a forum at the Great Hall of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi last Saturday for her consistency, dedication, hardwork and innovation in teaching and learning.

For her prize, she will receive a three-bedroom house and a scholarship to study abroad if she so desires, with funding from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

Mrs. Fuseini becomes the third female teacher to win the highest national honours for teachers in a row.

In her remarks, Madam Adjabeng lauded the exemplary efforts and dedicated service of the award winner which has earned her the prestigious recognition.

She urged her to go the extra mile in her professional pursuit adding that she should not be complacent with her current status as a role model.

The MCE admonished staff, teachers and non-teachers alike to acquit themselves well wherever they find themselves, saying in due course they would reap the reward.

Hon. Adjabeng donated a cash of Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis [GHc10, 000.00] to the awardee for use as purchase of furnishings for her newly-acquired house.

In a remark, Madam Fuseina who has been teaching for 19 years, with 15years of dedicated service in the kindergarten said it takes selflessness, hard work and dedication to come this far.

Coupled with a good heart for children, she said one needs patience and passion to deliver the expected outcomes.

She promised to work harder in collaboration with the assembly to inspire all teachers both public and private in the municipality through innovative teaching modalities to raise the image of the area as far as education was concerned.

On his part, the Municipal Education Director, Mr. Kean Appiah commended the assembly for the continuous support towards improving the fortunes of basic education in the municipality.

He expressed the pride of the municipality in chalking these successes, adding that the KG category was also won by Greater Accra.

He encourage all teachers to demonstrate hard work and professionalism and in due course they would be candidates for honours.
