
The Municipal Chief Executive of the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly (LaNMMA), Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fusseini, together with the Member of Parliament for the Madina Constituency, Hon. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, has distributed birds to selected beneficiaries under the Nkoko Nkitinkiti Poultry Programme.
The distribution exercise, which took place in the municipality, forms part of government efforts to promote small-scale poultry farming and improve livelihoods among residents. The initiative specifically targets households, particularly women and the youth, to encourage their participation in poultry production as a sustainable economic activity.
Speaking during the exercise, Hon. Faila emphasized the importance of the programme in enhancing food security and creating economic opportunities within the municipality. He encouraged beneficiaries to take proper care of the birds and adopt good poultry management practices to ensure the success and sustainability of the initiative.
The Member of Parliament, Hon. Sosu, also reiterated the importance of supporting agricultural programmes that empower residents and contribute to the local economy.
The Nkoko Nkitinkiti Poultry Programme is part of the government’s broader agenda to boost local poultry production, reduce dependence on imported poultry products, and promote food security in communities across the country.
The La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with government and other stakeholders to implement development initiatives that improve the socio-economic well-being of residents.
