The La Nkwantanang -Madina Assembly has organised a 2-day orientation programme for 23 Assembly Members from Thursday, April 30 to Friday May 1, 2026 at KEMMAT Hotel, Big Ada.
The training programme was aimed at equipping participants with the requisite knowledge on their roles and responsibilities as Assembly Members.
Additionally, the training was designed to help participants understand the Local Governance Act, broaden their understanding on the dynamics of major and minor stakeholders; become familiar with local resource mobilisation best practices and gain a new perspective of the impact of social accountability.
Among the topics treated were; Concept of Decentralisation, Local Government Planning System, Participatory Governance and Stakeholder Management, Evidence Based Policy Making, Role of the General Assembly, and Resource and Revenue Mobilization.
The workshop combined brief presentation on problem-solving exercises and course discussion using both internal and local scenarios. It was also delivered in a highly interactive manner to encourage participants’ engagement and critical thinking.
