The La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Ibrahim Faila Fusseini, has supported nine GA communities within the Municipality with essential food items as part of activities marking this year’s Homowo Festival.

The items, which included maize, tuna fish, palm oil, palm nuts and bottled water, were distributed on Thursday, August 13, and Friday, August 14, 2026, to the various traditional authorities and communities.

The beneficiary communities were La Nkwantanang, Agboba, Pantang, Teiman, Oyarifa, Okataban, Kweiman, Danfa and Otinibi.

The donation, made on behalf of the MCE by the Municipal Information Officer, Mr. Isaac Odoom Egyin, formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to demonstrate its respect for GA culture and traditions while strengthening its relationship with traditional authorities.

Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Egyin said the gesture was intended to support the traditional authorities and residents as they prepared for the Homowo celebrations. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to working closely with chiefs, elders and community leaders to promote peace, unity and sustainable development within the Municipality.

On behalf of the beneficiary chiefs, Nii Kwei Dzamansah, Chief of Otinibi, expressed appreciation to the MCE and the Assembly for the timely intervention.

“We thank the MCE for remembering us during this important period. This donation will help our people and make the celebrations more meaningful,” he said.

The initiative forms part of the La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly’s broader commitment to supporting communities, preserving cultural heritage and fostering stronger partnerships between the Assembly and traditional leadership.
