Madina MP and MCE Donate Cows to Muslim Communities for Eid-ul-Adha Celebration

The Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Dr. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu, together with the Municipal Chief Executive for La Nkwantanang–Madina Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Fusseini Faila, donated cows to Muslim communities within the municipality to support the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha.

The donation formed part of efforts to support Muslim families and communities during one of the most important festivals on the Islamic calendar. Beneficiary groups included Madina Zongo, the Taxi Rank Mosque, Otinibi, Madina Youth, Zongo Youth, and Adentan. The cows were distributed among the communities to enable households to partake in the festivities.

Presenting the donation, Hon. Dr. Francis-Xavier Kojo Sosu explained that the gesture was made on behalf of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of the people. He emphasized that Eid-ul-Adha is a period of sacrifice, unity, and compassion, and encouraged residents to celebrate in peace and harmony.

The MP commended the Muslim community for its peaceful nature and noted that continued unity and coexistence would contribute significantly to the growth and development of the municipality.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Fusseini Faila praised the Muslim community, particularly the youth, for their commitment to maintaining peace within the municipality. He assured residents of the Assembly’s continued support and urged celebrants to observe the festival responsibly, emphasizing that Eid-ul-Adha extends beyond the slaughtering and sharing of animals and reflects the values of sacrifice, tolerance, and forgiveness.

The Municipal Chief Executive further called on residents to continue supporting one another and to uphold the spirit of unity and peaceful coexistence that characterizes the municipality.

On behalf of the beneficiary communities, the General Secretary of the Madina Chiefs, Dr. Idris Dick Collingson, expressed appreciation to the President, the Member of Parliament, and the Municipal Chief Executive for the timely support. He also offered prayers for continued peace, progress, and development within the municipality and the country at large.

The donation underscores the Assembly’s commitment to fostering social cohesion, supporting vulnerable groups, and promoting peaceful celebrations among all communities.
