As part of efforts to contain and ensure compliance following the directives of His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on measures to contain the CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) pandemic, the Public Health Emergency Management Committee (PHEMC) comprising all the major stakeholders in the municipality was on Tuesday, 17th March 2020 inaugurated by the Municipal Chief Executive, Mrs. Jennifer Dede Adjabeng.
Part of the Committee’s mandate, amongst others, is to ensure Public Education on preventive measures in the markets, communities, lorry stations and all other public places and also ensure the Assembly’s bye-laws on food handling are strictly complied with.
The committee is instructed to submit a cogent work plan by close of day Thursday on the modalities to ensure zero COVID-19 in the Municipality as well as full compliance by churches, mosques and all social gatherings involving large crowds.
The Assembly has as a matter of urgency procured a significant number of Veronica Buckets to be stationed at vantage places within the Madina market.
