The Ghana Statistical Service has organised a two-day training workshop on administrative data compilation for some selected staff of the La Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly from Monday, March 27 to Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the Assembly’s Conference room.
The objectives of the two days’ workshop were to train various officers on how to compile a strong database for each department; reduce the challenges Planning Officers face during Medium Term Development Planning and Annual Progress Report preparation, and how compilation of administrative data helps to review performance and in solving development issues
The facilitator from the Ghana Statistical Service, Mr. Victor Owusu in his presentations focused on the role of data collection in our medium term Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). He said data collection guides policies and legislative documents in order to coordinate programmes for economic and social development.
Mr. Owusu thus encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge gained in the training process in their administrative work because lack of data delays in data submission which ultimately affects its usefulness to the nation.
