The La Nkwantanang-Madina Municipal Assembly has marked the 68th independence anniversary celebration at Madina Astro-Turf in Accra, on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
Seven contingents were present at the parade including West African Senior High School, PRESEC Legon, Smart Brains International School, Greenhill Preparatory School, Grace Life International School, Madina Technical and Vocational Institute and SDA Basic and Junior High School.
Led by Master Andrews Torgbor, the contingents were inspected by the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Abena Kwesiwa Kyei, and the Municipal Education Director Mr. Kean Adjei- Appiah.
In an address, Mr. Kean Adjei-Appiah said the ceremony was not just for celebration but a commemoration to sustain the development of our nation Ghana.
He said there was the need to look out for the best infrastructural tools in order to meet the objectives and goals of the 21st century.
He also stressed the provision of ICT tools in the various schools to promote a conducive learning environment for the upcoming future leaders of Ghana.
“Significantly, the power to make Ghana what we want it to become is only by education”, he said.
In a speech, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Madam Abena Kyei said over the years, education have suffered a great loss, therefore, there’s the need to unite and drive the nation to meet its dream.
LaNNMA, she said, has grown to improve and create job opportunities in various sectors, particularly education, adding that it has provided nursery school blocks to schools within the assembly’s locality.
She urged all citizens to come together and work progressively for the betterment of our nation Ghana.
She seized the opportunity to thank and acknowledge the participants for the commitment to the exercise and the parade contingents for a successful march pass.
Madina Community Technical Vocational Institute emerged as winners of the parade followed by West African Senior High School as runner-up, with Grace Life International School taking the third position.
